While heat tape isn’t required for every application, it’s especially useful when a transfer may shift during the process. It works best when pressing hats, curved surfaces, or garments with seams, and when using an iron, Cricut, or heat press pillow where maintaining placement can be more difficult.
For most flat heat press applications on smooth, flat garments, heat tape typically isn’t necessary since the press itself holds the transfer firmly in place.
